This morning, the Arizona Board of Regents proudly appointed Suresh Garimella as the 23rd president of the University of Arizona following the candidate’s interview and a unanimous board vote.

The Arizona Board of Regents voted unanimously to appoint Suresh Garimella as the university's 23rd president. Garimella, who is currently president of the University of Vermont, said he will focus on students above all else.

The Arizona Board of Regents has appointed Suresh Garimella as the 23rd president of the University of Arizona. The unanimous board vote follows a comprehensive national search fueled by the work of the U of A Presidential Search Advisory Committee and informed by community feedback.

The Arizona Board of Regents announced today that Dr. Suresh Garimella is a candidate for the position of the 23rd president of the University of Arizona.

As president of the University of Vermont, Garimella more than doubled the university's research enterprise and strengthened state and community relationships. A professor of mechanical engineering and a highly cited researcher, he also continued to focus on teaching and mentoring students.

The funding will support the UArizona Health Sciences Center for Advanced Molecular and Immunological Therapies, a biomedical research hub in downtown Phoenix.
